Join us for a beautiful morning run beneath the redwoods in Aptos, California, on June 8th, 2014, at 9:00 a.m.

We started this race to give women a chance to race with other women, back when most race participants were men. We still love our women’s race, and we think you will, too— whether you’re in it to break the tape, or just looking to try a new
distance in a fun and supportive atmosphere.

The Aptos Women’s 5-Miler is great for families, with awards for top-finishing mother-daughter and sister teams, so sign up with your relatives— and bring the boys along to cheer. Artistic medals will be awarded to the top three finishers in 5-year age brackets, and you don’t want to miss our “women in the redwoods” t-shirt. Walkers are welcome!

The race is organized by the Santa Cruz Track Club, a non-profit organization that has been supporting and promoting running and race walking in Santa Cruz County since 1989. Our community includes athletes of every age, experience, and ability who participate in events ranging from 100 meters to 100 miles.

The Aptos Women’s 5-Miler benefits the Advocates for the Forest of Nisene Marks, a local organization that supports the maintenance and improvement of the park, as well as SCTC’s youth and adult running and race walking programs.

Challenge yourself, have fun with friends, and give back to the community by joining us for a beautiful run through the forest. Sign up on Active.com, or download a paper registration form at http://www.santacruztrackclub.com. You can also follow us on Facebook for training tips and more.
